Dr. Z strikes again!

It was before the 2006 NFL season that Dr. Z aka Paul Zimmerman, made his pre-season predictions. And he picked Miami Dolphins to win it all that year. He was encouraged by the fact that the Dolphins had traded for Daunte Culpepper as their starting quarterback and had Nick Saban coaching them.

Fast forward to 2007; Cleo Lemon connected with WR Greg Camarillo for a 64-yard touchdown pass in overtime! And the Miami players invaded the field. They were seen hugging and celebrating. The owner was seen shedding tears in the box. Had Dr. Z's prediction come true, albeit a year late? Huh, not quite, Miami had just won their first (yes, that's no typo) and only game in week 15 in 2007!

Since Dr. Z's prediction, Miami went 7-25 in two seasons, has had two coaching changes (Saban went back to college and the next Coach, Cam Cameron, was fired), Culpepper was let go , Bill Parcells was made the VP of football operations (and he brought in his crew from Dallas Cowboys) and Jason Taylor was last seen on "Dancing with the Stars"!

See what an SI prediction can do? Imagine what would have happened if Miami Dolphins had been their cover story (or on their cover!)! The SI jinx is no laughing matter - ask the Dolphins!

Now, Dr. Z is back again and has picked Minnesota Vikings to win the Super Bowl next season. Understandably, the other NFC North teams are elated!

These pundits make some horrible predictions. Ofcourse, their odds are considerably better when the playoffs start.

Peter King picked the Cowboys as the NFC representative in SB a couple of years back. They barely made it to the playoffs that year.

Punditsez "this year the NFC rep will again come out of NFC East to face the NE Patriots"
