Good for Nothing SOBs

That would be the entire Indian cricket team. They should just jump into the ocean and not bother playing the series out. How toothless is this team? A greenhorn who hadn'd played even a single test put the fear of the devil into the minds of batsmen with more than 40000 runs among them.

Winning in SL is tough, I understand but the margin of loss betrays the incompetence of this bunch to play spin and their lack of fighting qualities. I cannot believe that this is essentially the same team that won at Perth. How can they plummet so much so quickly? The mantle of the most frustrating team must pass from the Pakistani team of the 80s and 90s to this Indian team.

Aww ... come on, Man! Don't be so hard on them. You've just said that they beat the best at Perth. We have to see the body of work that this batting lineup has posted.
As disgraceful a loss as this was, the core of this team has won in Aus., SA, Eng amongst other tours. So let's just hope that they bounce back in the next Test and square the series.

Against SL it's always a problem. One, our batsmen have a problem against the spinners. Two, our bowlers, especially the spinners dont do anything of note. Bhajji, especially is impotent without the right ball (no pun) in his hand. He's good only when bowling with the Duke ball.

But have you noticed how the SL spinners struggle when they visit India? Or any country where they play with Duke ball and not the Kookaburra. Also Murali's chuckers dont do much on the pitches of Australia or South Africa. I expected India to lose this series. Going back to '85, they've always had a problem playing in SL. Drew in 85 1-1, drew two meaningless tests in 97, lost 1-2 in 2001 and now this. They won the series in 93 1-0 with 2 drawn matches. It's been tough going there so I'd understand if they lose it. But the manner of this defeat doesnt sit well.
