The next Zidane

If this article and a friend of mine who was raving after Russia's 3-1 triumph over the Netherlands in Euro 2008 are to be believed, Russia's Andrei Arshavin will follow the footsteps of Pele, Maradona and Zidane to become the game's superstar. Only time will tell. People have, in the past, said the same about Romario, Rolando and Rolandinho and even though the first two led Brazil to a couple of World Cup titles, they never really lived up to their billing as the next Maradona or whatever.
